The February 2026 terms, in plain English
A revision date is the most useful filter available for referral information. Here is what the current rulebook says, clause by clause.
Tesla's Refer and Earn terms carry a revision date of 24 February 2026. On its own that is dull. Used properly it is a filter: any referral guide written before it is describing a rulebook that has since been rewritten. Here are the clauses that matter, in plain English.
The attachment clause
A referral attaches when the order is placed, through the link, and cannot be added afterwards — not by you, not by support, not by the code's owner. Every practical piece of advice on this site follows from that one sentence.
The benefit clause
The reward is defined per market. In the UK it is 650 free Supercharging miles on a new Model 3 or Model Y. In North America it is a three-month FSD trial. In mainland Europe it is Supercharging distance, doubled to roughly 2,000 km in April 2026. Same programme, three answers.
The eligibility clause
Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck in specific trims. Model S and Model X were removed in March 2026, weeks after this revision — and Cybertruck is not sold in the UK, so the practical UK list is Model 3 and Model Y.
The expiry clauses
Two clocks, both measured from the Grant Date — the day the reward is posted to an account. Supercharging distance expires in six months; Tesla Credits in twelve. A 30-day warning email precedes expiry, and an expired balance cannot be reissued.
The referrer clauses
The sharer is paid in Tesla Credits, capped at the first ten successful referrals per calendar year, resetting on 1 January. Credits are non-cash, non-transferable, non-reissuable, and not valid for gift cards or alcohol; redemption runs through the Loot Box and is final. The amount is reported inconsistently — $250 in some places, $500 in others — so this guide states the mechanism and points at the account, which is the only figure that describes a real balance.
The transaction clause
One referral per transaction, and a vehicle order and an energy purchase count separately. That is genuinely useful: missing the referral on a car does not consume a future energy opportunity.
How to date-check any referral page in ten seconds
Does it list Model S or X as earning a benefit? Predates March 2026. Does it promise a flat cash discount? Older programme. Does it quote a UK figure in kilometres, or promise free FSD to UK buyers? Wrong market. Does it carry a date attached to the claim rather than a copyright year? If not, it cannot be checked at all.
Why a rulebook date is more useful than a rulebook summary
Because summaries age silently and dates do not. Every sentence in this dispatch could be wrong by next spring, and the date at the top is what lets you notice. It is also the fairest test to apply to a competitor page: not whether the writing is confident, but whether it tells you when its claims were last checked. In a year with a February terms revision, a March eligibility change and an April reward change on the mainland, an undated referral page is not a source — it is an artefact.
What this means for the voucher question
The current rulebook contains no coupon, no promo code and no voucher field. It contains a link, a benefit, an eligibility list and two deadlines. That is the whole programme, and knowing it is worth more than any code.
