There is no Tesla ‘voucher’ under the Electric Car Grant
The grant is where the voucher language comes from. Tesla is not on the eligible list, so the word does not describe anything available on a Tesla order.
Part of why "Tesla voucher code" is searched so often is that the UK genuinely does run a purchase subsidy — the Electric Car Grant — and grant language and voucher language sound alike. The scheme is real, it is applied at point of sale, and Tesla is absent from its published eligible list.
How the scheme is shaped
Two conditions, and readers usually check only the first. There is a list-price cap of roughly £37,000, and there are manufacturer-level environmental criteria — an SBTi-verified target being the requirement most often cited in reporting. Both apply. Why stale pages get this wrong
Because UK incentive text is copied more than any other content in the EV space and ages badly. Pages describing an older plug-in grant for a Tesla, or presenting a grant as stackable with a referral, are describing a market state that no longer exists. If a page tells you a UK Tesla buyer can claim a government grant, check the current eligible list before believing anything else on it.
