The miles did not arrive. A UK escalation sequence
Missing Supercharging miles are one of two completely different problems wearing the same face. This page is a decision tree rather than a complaint form: answer two questions and you will know which problem you have, and whether it is worth anyone's time to chase.
Question 1: has the car actually been delivered?
Not yet delivered. Then nothing is missing. A referral shows as pending until the transaction settles, and the balance appears at the Grant Date — which follows delivery. Waiting costs nothing, because the six-month clock starts at the Grant Date rather than at the order. Stop here.
Delivered. Go to question 2.
Question 2: was the benefit line on the order summary you agreed to?
Open the order in the Tesla app and read the summary as it stood before payment. This is the fork in the road, and everything downstream depends on it.
Yes, the line was there. The referral attached and delivery of the reward has gone wrong. That is a supportable case and you hold the document that supports it.
No, and it never was. The referral did not attach. A referral cannot be applied after an order is placed, so this branch has no remedy — and knowing that saves you a fortnight of correspondence.
Before either branch: three cases where nothing was ever due
Model S or Model X. Both left the referral programme in March 2026.
A Cybertruck. Not sold in the UK, so no UK referral exists for one.
A used car, or an order placed by a leasing company or employer. Used purchases sit outside the new-order flow, and a third-party order attaches to that party's order or to nothing.
If one of these applies, the absence is the programme working exactly as documented.
The attached-but-not-delivered branch: what to send
Four items, gathered before you write anything. The order summary screenshot showing 650 free Supercharging miles as included. The order number. The delivery date. And a screenshot of the account showing no Supercharging balance.
Then ask one narrow question rather than a broad one: the benefit was on my order, it is not on my account, please apply it. Requests that name a document route differently from requests that describe a feeling.
What the person who shared the code can add
One useful data point and nothing else. They can say whether the referral shows as pending on their side, which supports the attached branch. They cannot re-attach anything, cannot see your order, and cannot pass you credits — credits are documented as non-transferable.
The never-attached branch: what is still available
Two things, and they are real rather than consoling. A future energy purchase is a separate transaction with its own referral opportunity. And a second vehicle later is unaffected, because there is no per-buyer limit on using a referral link. What is gone is this order's benefit.
Three dead ends worth naming
Hunting for a "better" code changes nothing if the session carried no referral or the car was ineligible. Paying anyone for a replacement is a certainty of loss, since a referral is free by definition. And accepting "it will appear later" without asking which screen and by when converts a fixable case into an unfixable one, because the evidence gets harder to assemble the further you are from delivery.
Why this failure is common rather than unlucky
The programme has one irreversible moment and almost no signposting around it. Nothing in the ordering flow says a link had to be opened first, and nothing warns when the window shuts. That is why the useful writing about this is preventative — and why the order summary, read before payment, is the only screen that ever really mattered.
